Recently, the US FDA has affirmed the immunogenic potential of aggregates in biotherapeutics and have indicated that these particles must be characterized, quantified and controlled. Brightwell's Micro-Flow Imaging™ (MFI™) has been identified as suitable for this purpose.
On May 17, 2011, Brightwell will host a subvisible particles seminar at the AAPS National Biotechnology Conference. Invited speakers will be present to discuss their latest research in this area.
Confirmed presentations:
Role of Subvisible Particles in Protein Aggregation Pathways
John F. Carpenter, PhD - University of Colorado
Subvisible Particles Detection and Quantitation as a Result of Protein Aggregation: Methods of Characterization
Danny Chou, PharmD, PhD, MBA - NorthStar Bio
Mitigation Strategies to Manage Subvisible Particles in Protein Therapeutics
Rob Simler, PhD - Genzyme
A panel discussion with invited speakers is also scheduled as well as an opportunity to network with peers. A full program brochure including speaker abstracts can be found at:
